HoLa Coat Drive/Campaña de abrigos

The Hoboken Dual Language Charter School (HoLa) launched its first-annual coat drive in partnership with Jersey Cares, which every year collects and distributes “gently used” winter coats to at-risk men, women and children. The HoLa Kindergartners, first graders and second graders set their own goal and predicted they could collect up to 225 coats from Nov. 30 to Dec. 15. As part of this school-wide project, the students will be reading and discussing The Mystery of Sara Beth by Polly Putnam, a story about two girls who must share a coat. HoLa parents will be encouraging their children to put a note in the coats, like “Hope this keeps you warm,” or “This was my favorite coat.”  HoLa, Hoboken’s newest charter school, is located in the Boys & Girls Club at 123 Jefferson Street. For more information on the coat drive or to donate, please contact coat committee chairwoman, Lynn Danzker at 201.970 8153 or lynn@nullthehuntergroupllc.com.
