TRUE Mentors is hosting Girls Inc. of New York City to help the girls in Hoboken break down negative body images and better understand their real beauty. The conference will be held May 7, 14 and 28 for girls ages 10 - 16 at the Boys and Girls Club of Hoboken, 123 Jefferson St., Hoboken, NJ. The sessions will be broken out into two age groups at two different times:
Girls ages 10 - 13 at 6 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Girls ages 14 - 16 at 7 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Light refreshments will be served for each session.
TRUE Mentors' mission is to unearth the potential of children in Hoboken through relationships. We match children one-on-one with caring adult mentors of the same sex to help our children build confidence, challenge themselves and make better life decisions.
During this conference, TRUE Mentors will work to match each child with a volunteer during the session to help them through the program and answer any questions that might come up during the class. Mothers are welcome to attend the class with their daughters, but we may ask you to be matched with another child to get the most out of the program.
Parents: Please fill out the permission.pdf and bring it with you on May 7 or the first session your child attends. Parents do not need to be present but do need to sign the permission slip for their child to attend.
Volunteers: Please fill out the VolunteerApplicationc.pdf and bring it with you on May 7 or the first session you attend. We ask that you attend each session for consistency in the relationship with the girl we match you with. Please fill out the form below and submit it to let us know you will be attending.
