Get Spooked! Join the Museum and Hoboken's The Theater Company for "Scary Stories on the Waterfront" at Sybil's Cave on Halloween, Saturday, Oct. 31. Producing Artistic Director David Zimmerman promises dramatic candlelit readings of classic ghost stories from different cities, including stories related to Sybil's cave itself. The cave is believed to have inspired Edgar Allen Poe's "The Mystery of Marie Roget," based on the true unsolved crime of the murder of Mary Rogers in 1841.
Two performances scheduled: 6 pm or 7:30 pm. Tickets are $13, available in advance at the Museum or on Halloween at the gate to Sybil's Cave, on Sinatra Drive between Sinatra Park and Union Dry Dock.
