Registration is now open for Fall Group Classes and Private Lessons at Garden Street Music!
To register for private lessons call or email us to reserve your day/time, teacher and instrument. You need to hold your space now so you are guaranteed the time you want in September. We have piano, guitar, drums, violin, voice, bass, woodwinds and brass private lessons. All ages, styles and levels are welcome. We have classes Mon-Saturday, day and evening available. Children and adults.
Group Classes will be held every Thursday, and will run for 10 weeks from Sept 9th through Nov 18th. Space is limited so please register to hold your child's spot.
All group classes are half off for siblings except for Rock Band *other discounts apply. Since there is a lot of interest in these classes (especially Garden Street Singers and Rock Band) please register early. Placement in the classes will be given by a first come, first serve basis.
SING LOUD! SING PROUD! Ages 5 and up. Thursdays 3:45pm-4:15pm Group voice and music class. $175 for 10 weeks. Group singing and music class designed to teach the fundamentals of singing and musicianship. Expression through song is one of the best ways to gain confidence and self esteem! This is a fun class for all levels whether you have aspirations of being a professional singer, or just like to sing in the shower. This is a great class to help shy children to break out of their shell and an outlet for the ham in the family to SING LOUD! and SING PROUD! Topics to be covered: Understanding and Executing the 'Singer's Breath, Feldenkrais for Performers, Alexander Technique, Body Mapping, Choral Skills, Acting, & Ear Training/Sight Singing.
GARDEN STREET SINGERS! Ages 7 and up. Thursdays 4:15pm-5:30pm Group Singing/Show Choir for Girls. $175 for 10 weeks. Siblings are half price. This is an ongoing performance-singing group and old and new members are welcome. Participation in the performances is not required to be part of the class. The choir sings contemporary music and performs locally at charities and events in Hoboken. Previous performances include: Hoboken for Haiti Benefit, Hoboken Tree Lighting, W Hotel, Cabin Fever and Pete Seeger Tribute Concert, etc. This is a singing and movement class and light choreography will be taught. This class unifies young girls to have a voice and a positive outlet to express themselves. Singing and dancing together on stage is such an amazing feeling. It's important for young girls to learn to work together and share in positive expression where they don't feel like they need to compete. Singing and working together in this group instills confidence and unity. Topics to be covered: Voice Training, Ear Training, Unity, Harmonizing, Choreography, Acting, Diction for Singers, Song Writing, Music Skills, Sight Singing, and Performing.
Group Guitar Lessons: Ages 7 and up. Thursdays 5:30pm-6:15pm Group Guitar Class for beginner and intermediate students. $175 for 10 weeks, Siblings are half price. This class will teach the fundamentals of learning the guitar in a group setting. Learning to play with along with other musicians is not only a ton of fun, it's key to being a well rounded musician. Topics include: Wide Range of Guitar Theory, Chords, Strumming, Picking, Guitar Solos, Improv, Song Writing and Songs of all genres.
ROCK BAND!: Mix Ages. Placement based on ability not by age. Thursdays 6:30pm-7:15pm. $250 for 10 weeks siblings are $175. This is a small mix of students of all disciplines. Rock Band is comprised of our most talented students playing together as an ensemble. Pianists, Bassists, Guitarists, Singers, Drummers, etc come together to form an amazing band. Old and new members are welcome. This is not only a class but, a performance group (will perform at charities and events in Hoboken)The band will be produced and recorded in our state of the art recording studio and will release a CD!
