Diabetes: A Deeper Look

This new traveling exhibit helps guests understand diabetes, treatment options, and the role insulin plays in the body. The 2,500-square-foot exhibit resembles a walk-through blood vessel, and visitors enter through a giant cell structure that demonstrates insulin’s role in getting glucose (sugar) energy to cells. Hands-on interactive exhibits and displays explain the role of insulin; how people can be affected by diabetes; the importance of diet and exercise for type 2 diabetes; medications used to help control blood sugar levels; and ongoing research to help treat diabetes. The exhibit will kick off its three-year national tour beginning at Liberty Science Center.

Hubble
The Hubble Space Telescope, perhaps the most important new scientific tool since Galileo invented the telescope, produces images that are astonishingly beautiful and often deeply mysterious. Seen on the nation’s largest IMAX Dome screen, 88 feet in diameter, they are positively mind-boggling. Viewers will be awed by sights formerly witnessed only by astronauts and astronomers. They’ll see stunning, large-scale images of some of the most distant features in the universe such as star “nurseries,” unimaginably distant galaxies, and glowing nebulae located in the deepest part of the cosmos, up to 13 billion light years away from Earth.
