The Hoboken Historical Museum Celebrates its 30th Anniversary With a Victorian-Style Gala: An Elysian Fields Escapade!
The Museum’s Annual Spring Gala is Saturday, May 14, 2016, at the Hoboken Elks Lodge, to Benefit the Collections Campaign
In the mid-1800s, Hoboken was a leisure paradise, attracting visitors in droves for a stroll up the River Walk, a sip of water from Sybil's Cave, or to watch a baseball or cricket game from the Colonnade overlooking the Elysian Fields. For its 30th anniversary, the Hoboken Historical Museum is reaching deep into its collections archive to decorate the Hoboken Elks Lodge in early Hoboken style for the annual spring fundraising gala: An Elysian Fields Escapade, on Saturday, May 14!
At this Victorian romp, guests will enjoy a delicious buffet dinner from AD Catering, an open bar featuring a spiked punch worthy of the original Turtle Club, and an evening of dancing to tunes spanning the 20th century! The centerpiece of the evening will be our popular Live Auction, featuring leisure distractions for modern Hobokenites, including:
- A summer pass to the Shipyard pool
- A year of indoor parking
- An evening of whiskey-tasting for a party of 10
- A two-week stay in Pompano Beach, Fla.
- A vacation in Winter Park, Colo.
- and so much more!
A portion of the proceeds will help support the Museum’s Collections Campaign, with the goal of securing more space so we can accommodate the growing archives and make them more accessible as a research center. Tickets are $150 each, and are available online at www.hobokenmuseum.org; or http://bit.ly/ElysianFieldsGala.
The event is made possible through the generous support of Gold sponsors CarePoint Health & the Schmalzbauer Family; and Silver sponsors Hufnagel Landscape Design & Construction Group, W Hotels Hoboken, BCB Community Bank, Strategic Insurance Partners, Maïk Irrigation, Hackensack UMC - Palisades, Halstead Property and Haven Savings Bank.
