The next Hoboken Food Allergy Support Group meeting will take place next Tuesday, October 21st at 7pm at Shoprite of Hoboken. This will be a general meeting with the main focus on Halloween and how to "Be Prepared, Not Scared". We will share tips and resources with each other for allowing our children to have fun celebrating Halloween! This event is free and open to the public.
Also, I wanted to bring attention to the Teal Pumpkin Project sponsored by FARE (the Food Allergy Research and Education organization). FARE is encouraging communities to raise awareness of food allergies by providing non-food treats for trick-or-treaters and painting a pumpkin teal - the color of food allergy awareness - to place in front of their house along with a free printable sign from FARE to indicate they have non-food treats available. The Teal Pumpkin Project is designed to promote safety, inclusion and respect of individuals managing food allergies – and to keep Halloween a fun, positive experience for all.
Please consider participating in the Teal Pumpkin Project effort and having non-food treat options available for children. Teal Pumpkin Project - Food Allergy Research & Education http://www.foodallergy.org/
