School's will be out so, but hunger might last all summer long.
What are we doing to help local kids? Hoboken Family Alliance is conducting a summer food drive for the month of July through September 3. In order to maintain consistency and quality, we are accepting only financial donations to purchase needed food in bulk.
When school’s out for summer vacation, children living in poverty stop receiving free meals Monday through Friday at school and face hunger at home.
Often their parents : 1) work in low-wage jobs 2) are unemployed or 3) are disabled.
We would like to ensure that children in low-income areas in Hoboken continue to receive nutritious meals during long summer vacations when they do not have access to school lunch or breakfast.
Food will be distributed to local children in need. We would like to invite you to assist us with helping curb hunger by giving a financial contribution.
Any funds donated will go 100% to purchase food for those in need. Our distribution will be provided to families within Hoboken.
Items to be purchased will include:
Whole Grain Cereal
Pancake Mix (Just Add Water) and Syrup
Oatmeal or Grits
