Acting Initiative Workshop Sessions for Summer 2015
ACTING * IMPROV * PLAYWRIGHTING * SHAKESPEARE
During the two and a half hours session students will get an introduction to basic improv technique, playwriting, and Shakespeare amongst peers who are passionate about exploring theater. These sessions will serve as a brief introduction to our Garden Street Acting Initiative beginning in the fall of 2015. All levels welcome, but a passion and enthusiasm to learn about theater is required.

About: GARDEN STREET ACTING INITIATIVE
Through weekly specialized instruction and advanced workshops, members of Garden Street Acting Initiative will explore the wide world of theater and the performing arts.
The Winter Semester will end in a showcase for friends and family and will include improv performance, classical acting, and readings of creative writing and playwriting done in the semester. Examples of weekly workshops include mask creation, puppetry, audition technique, and devising through creative movement.
The Spring Semester will focus more specifically on the audition and rehearsal process, resulting in a performance of Shakespeare’s The Tempest for the Hoboken community. We are the first youth group in Hoboken to perform classical works and look forward to pioneering the art within our community.
All experience levels are welcome to join.
The Garden Street Acting Initiative will start weekly sessions Saturday, September 19, 2015.
