Future Programs for Tweens at the Hoboken Library

In response to requests for tween programs, the Hoboken Library has three upcoming programs just for kids who want to learn with kids their own age. Mark your calendars for the following dates:

Sat., Oct. 25 @ 3 PM- Math Wizard sponsors: So You Think You Can Add – Kids ages 6 to 8 can attend the second part of this program that will test math skills and award prizes to the “buzziest” mathematicians in the group. (A program for Little Adders, 4 and 5, happens at 10:30 AM). Tickets will be available on the library’s Eventbrite site on October 23.

Sat., Dec. 6 @ 11 AM – Practical Magic Workshop with Mark Zacharias – Kids 8 through teens can channel their inner Harry Potter (or Hermione Granger) by learning how to do magic from one of the best. Come back at2 PM to see Mark make holiday magic for families and all ages. Tickets at Eventbrite on Friday, Dec. 5 for both programs.

Sat. Jan. 17 @ 2 PM – How to Talk to a Robot – Learn robotics basics from Dr. David Pein. Participants, ages 10 through teens will learn to use university level software to program robots and make them work. Tickets at Eventbrite on Fri. Jan. 16.

All programs are free to Hoboken children with library cards. There are limited spaces in all programs, so please reserve a space by getting a ticket at www.bccls.org/hoboken at the Eventbrite banner. If you find that you need to cancel your ticket, please let the library know by calling 201-420-2348 so that another person can attend in your place.
