“Body Intelligence” by Suzanne Ausnit at Hoboken Museum, Mar. 23 7pm

On Wed., Mar. 23, at 7 pm, the Museum welcomes instructor Suzanne Ausnit, who will teach a free class in how to use slow, gentle movements based on her Feldenkrais training that will enable participants to access their body's intelligence. "Our bodies have innate wisdom," Ausnit says. "We begin life knowing how to move naturally and safely, but over time develop habitual ways of standing, sitting and moving that create discomfort and pain. From sitting too long in one position--often over a computer--we develop chronic pain in the neck and shoulders."

In the class, students will relearn how to move in a graceful, natural way that can make daily activities easier and make athletic and artistic pursuits more enjoyable. The class will be limited to 15 people, so to reserve a space, call 201-656-2240, or email Bill Curran at billc@nullhobokenmuseum.org.

Ausnit specializes in therapeutics, somatics and core strengthening. A yoga teacher for 12 years, she has had extensive anatomy training and is in her second year of a four-year Feldenkrais training program.
