Blood donors are being offered free health screenings at a blood drive at Hoboken High School on Oct. 20.
Nurses with Community Blood Services will be collecting blood from patients at the high school at 800 Clinton St. on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 9 to 3 p.m.
The event is organized by Hoboken Community Blood Drive.
Healthy individuals aged 17 through 75 years old and who weigh at least 110 pounds can donate blood.
Donors are advised to eat a moderate meal before donating blood and to bring identification showing a signature.
Male donors over 40 years old will get a free PSA blood test -- which is used to detect prostrate cancer -- and all donors will be offered a sickle cell test, as well as cholesterol and glucose screenings with each blood donation.
