Youths with cognitive disabilities can benefit from the power of sports and athletics with the Special Olympics Young Athlete Program. The program runs each Spring and Fall for a six week period and teaches athletic fundamentals to children ages two-and-a-half to seven. The program is designed to help children learn the love of sports at an early age on and facilitate athletic basics in order to help children prepare to compete in the Special Olympics games, which require children to be 8-years-old in order to compete. The program is an exciting opportunity to spend time with your child and to nurture their physical abilities and foster social skills.
