Summer is heating up fast! While some families are braving the traffic and hitting the beach, there are tons of activities to do right here in the Hoboken Mile Square! Check out our list of fun summer activities in Hoboken - all of which are free unless noted below:
- Sit in the driver’s seat of an old-time fire truck and ring its big brass bell at the Fire Department Museum.
- Learn about Hoboken’s history at the Hoboken Historical Museum. Also check out the museum’s weekly art and creativity programs being held all summer long.
- Watch a movie in the park with Movies Under the Stars. Showtimes will take place Wednesday evenings in June (9pm), July (9pm), and August (8pm) at Pier A Park as well as 7th/Jackson. Come early to get a good spot and don’t forget to bring a blanket!
- Kayak in the Hudson River with Hoboken Cove Community Boathouse.
- Reach new heights and go rock climbing at Gravity Vault. Climbing passes start at $25 for children.
- Enjoy magic shows, music, sing-alongs and more at Family Fun Nights every Tuesday starting June 15th (7pm - 8pm) at Shipyard Park.
- Break out those cookbooks and get some fresh veggies at the Farmers Market. Vendors will be lined up every Tuesday (2pm - 8pm) at Church Square Spark and every Saturday (9am - 2pm) under the 14th Street Viaduct.
- Get a zeppoli or a famous Hoboken italian sausage at the annual St. Ann's Feast July 22nd - 26th or Italian Festival in September.
- Go for a stroll through Hudson County with a Historical Walking Tour. Text the word “Hudson” to 56512 for a link to the self-guided historical walking tours of both Hoboken, Downtown Jersey City, Liberty State Park, Journal Square and Weehaken.
- Rock out to Concerts In The Park every Monday (6pm) at SouthWest Park and every Thursday at Sinatra Park (6pm).
- Go back in time and watch Twelfth Night on August 12th (7pm) at Church Square Park.
- Bonus activity in Jersey City! Walk Groove on Grove, featuring a wide variety of musicians, performers, and local businesses every Wednesday (6pm - 9pm).
