Jaime the “Hot Dog Man”

Many of us here in the Hoboken community were saddened this week to learn of the news of Jaime Vallejo’s death. He was better know as “The Hot Dog Man” of Columbus Park. He was a kind, gentle man that was always quick with a smille and a “How are you doing?” Word has spread throughout the neighborhood that he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer that he succumbed to very quickly.

There have been flowers left at the bench near where he parked his cart each day and signs with words of encouragement for his wife and two children, from the community that grew to love him. A close friend of the family has set up a fund for donations to help with the financial burden they now face.
